Now that I have three books published on Amazon, I’ve started to look into the various ways to promote them. Erotic romance suffers from some unique issues, in that several of the most prominent promotion services don’t allow the genre. Including Amazon’s own advertising service. Yes, I’m sure you’ve seen lots of erotica in the paid Amazon ads. So have I. It’s some sort of random magic whether they allow it or not. Actually, it seems to be allowed if you’re a big name author. Fair, right?
Anyway, not wanting to start off spending thousands of dollars, I’ve been looking at some of the lower cost options. Most places set their prices in direct relation to the number of email subscribers they have. One of the best ratios I’ve found is at Just Kindle Books. As of this post, you can get your book in front of 45,000+ subscribers for as low as $18. If you bump it up to $43 you can add on a whole bunch of extras, including better placement.
Bottom line, it’s a low amount of money to risk for a potentially large return. For those of us trying to rise out of the millions of titles available on Amazon, that’s a good thing.
