Book 3 in the College Secrets Series

As the season moves into fall in the town of Oaklun, the temperatures start to drop. Students look forward to their fall break as one last chance to enjoy the outdoors before winter takes over.

Kyle

Being a freshman in college is hard work for a poor kid like me. Sure, I’ve got my twin sisters close by, but that’s a blessing and a curse. One of them, Allie, is known by just about every guy on campus, and not because of her sterling reputation. So that’s awkward, even if I do love her to death. Then there’s her roommate Haley, who I’ve crushed on since the moment I met her.

Now Haley is spoken for too. My dorm roommate Luke invites me to join him at his mother’s house on the lake for the long weekend, a last chance to enjoy the warm weather. Being the money-challenged individual I am, I can’t pass up a free vacation, so of course I take him up on the offer. The house is beautiful and the lake is gorgeous. But neither of them compare to the beauty of Rachel, Luke’s mother. Too bad that can never happen.

Rachel

I have it all, according to my friends. A thirty-eight-year old divorcee with a successful writing career, plenty of money, and a luxurious home on the lake. My ex-husband and I even still get along, so there’s nothing bad in my life. I have a son who’s just started college, and he’s having a great time. I have it all… except for love.

When my son Luke asked me if he could bring a friend, I said yes, not expecting him to pick his roommate. I only met Kyle once, on move-in weekend at the dorms. Since then, he’s been the stuff of my fantasies. Wildly inappropriate fantasies, sure, but not something that could ever become reality. Now he’s spending a week at my house. I find myself thinking about him in ways a mother shouldn’t think about her son’s friend. That can never happen.
